Sweet corn commentary

The ultimate fresh picked vegetable for me is sweet corn. Once you have a freshly-picked ear of sweet corn, you might tend to agree. It’s a-maize-ing.

The longer corn sits in storage the more its sugars get converted to starches. So grow your own, get the water boiling, pick, shuck, cook and enjoy! Fresh sweet corn has perfect texture, full flavor and, of course, is perfectly sweet.

For all the in-a-hurry eaters out there, here is a perfect quick corn recipe:

Harvest your corn and put the whole ear (with husks still on) into the microwave. Cook time is only about 5 minutes for one ear. Once the time is up, the husks and silk will fall off easily and you will have perfectly steamed corn.

Enjoy!
